Billing

Writing pricing details on paper

Turn estimated mover hours into workbook pricing assumptions.

Billing uses the active mover-hour source, rate inputs, flat-rate options, supplies charges, fees, adjustments, and taxes to build the estimated bill.

Set the pricing inputs that apply to this workbook estimate.

Billing turns the active estimate into workbook pricing assumptions. Use it after Quick Estimates has a usable mover-hour estimate, or when actual/agreed mover hours or a flat rate should replace the quick-estimate source.

What This Sheet Is For

Use Billing to set the rate and charge inputs that feed the estimated bill. The sheet can use Quick Estimates mover hours, actual mover hours, a minimum billable hour floor, or a flat-rate labor charge. It can also include packing labor, truck charges, rental truck charges, supplies charges, other service fees, adjustments, and tax estimate rows.

Billing is an estimating surface. It is not a legal invoice, tax filing system, or accounting record.

How To Read This Sheet

Read Billing from top to bottom. The first rows show the estimated bill and the main mover-hour rate. The next sections choose the mover-hour source, optional flat-rate labor path, added charges, supplies charges, other fees, adjustments, and tax estimate rows. Internal calculation rows show how the visible totals are assembled.

Billing Totals / Main Result

Use Billing Totals / Main Result to read the headline billing result. The main rows are Estimated Bill in Dollars, Mover Hour Rate in Dollars Per Hour, Total Mover Hours For Billing, and Movers Supplied.

The mover-hour rate is the central input. The total mover hours come from the active source selected later on the sheet, with the minimum billable mover-hours floor applied where relevant.

Mover Hours Source

Use Mover Hours Source to choose whether Billing uses the Quick Estimates mover-hour result or actual/agreed mover hours. Use Actual Mover Hours makes the Actual Mover Hours input win over Quick Estimates. Minimum Billable Mover Hours keeps the billable mover-hour result from falling below the chosen floor.

This section lets an early quick estimate become a better billing estimate when more accurate hours are known.

Flat Rate Option

Use Flat Rate Option when a flat labor amount should replace normal mover-hours labor. Apply Flat Rate Charge turns on the flat-rate path, and Flat Rate Charge in Dollars provides the candidate amount.

When the flat-rate checkbox is off, Billing uses the normal mover-hours labor charge path.

Labor, Tips, Packing Labor, Truck, And Rental Truck

The next rows collect common charge components:

  • Labor Charge in Dollars shows the normal mover-hours labor or flat-rate override.
  • Movers Tip Applies and Movers Tip In Dollars include a tip amount only when the checkbox is active.
  • Packing Labor Charge in Dollars uses packing hours and packing hourly rate when packing labor is applied.
  • Truck Charge in Dollars can use a per-mile truck charge or a flat truck amount.
  • Rental Truck Charge in Dollars includes a rental truck charge when applied.

Use only the charge components that belong in the workbook estimate.

Supplies Charges

Use Supplies Charges when supplies or packing supplies should be part of the estimated bill. Apply Supplies Charge controls the general supplies charge. Apply Packing Supplies Charge controls the packing supplies charge.

These rows are separate so supplies and packing supplies can be reviewed without mixing them into labor.

Other Fees And Non Taxable Adjustments

Use Other Fees And Non Taxable Adjustments for service fees, non-taxable adjustments, and the tax estimate rows. The visible totals separate taxable service amount, taxable supplies amount, total non-taxable amount, service tax, sales tax, and total tax collected.

These rows help the workbook keep charge categories organized for estimate purposes.

Internal Calculations

Use Internal Calculations only when the result needs inspection. These rows show how Billing selects mover hours, applies the minimum billable floor, handles flat-rate overrides, gates optional charges, and adds the estimated bill.

Most users can focus on the visible inputs and totals above this section.
